Anyway, back to the topic today. 2011's ending.
I developed new hobbies/skills: ➩ Travelling: I visited three countries , China, Vietnam and Bintan. Especially for China and Vietnam, I have never imagined myself to have visited there. I never really lusted to wander and travel around the world before 2011.
➩ Swapping(Barter Trade): I learnt how to swap items from blogshops! And it was hell of a ride, in a good way. From Marc Jacobs handbags to different bracelets, I've met nice blogshop owners and am thankful for that :)
➩ Artsy side of me - Unlocked: Increasingly I have gotten more fond of DIY-ing stuff, like handmaking rings, paper wallets, etc. ➩ Makeup: Have also become increasingly interested in makeup in the year 2011- But until I find a way not to get breakouts from putting on makeup, I'll reserve it for special occasions.
➩ More cooking
➩ Step Aerobics: Learnt step aerobics from NP Aerobics Club
I tried many new stuffs:
➩ Tasty Zha Jiang Mian <3 @ China ➩ Bunking in with a friend for one whole month @ China ➩ Washing laundry in a bathtub and stomping on it like that in olden time dramas when that was how daughters/young housewives would wash their laundry @ China ➩ Being away from Nerdy for 1 whole month @ China
➩ Clubbing with secondary school clique. Yes I've clubbed before. Only once okay? @ St James Power Station ➩ Signed up for cca FINALLY at school, Leo Club. Got a little bit more involved at one point of time. ➩ Laughing so much, UNCONTROLLABLY, for long periods of time over stretches of many days. Have never been like this before. O: @ Everywhere ➩ Discovered Eric Khoo's brilliant local movies. ➩ Started using Twitter ? Hahaha. ➩ Drawing on my exam script a flower and a bee, and even an inspirational quote. LOL @ Exam Paper ➩ (Going to) Be on camera for the first time @ Maangchi filming
➩ Taught a whole class of primary school students english @ Vietnam ➩ Plucked out weeds and got 5 splinters as a result @ Vietnam ➩ Did construction work for the first time(mixing of cement, carrying heavy piles of mud, painting walls with paintbrushes, etc). @ Vietnam
➩ Archery @ Bintan ➩ Air Rifle @ Bintan ➩ Dune Buggy @ Bintan
It was a hell of a bumpy road for me: I do admit that I did have fun in Year 2011. Alot of fun and adventure in fact.
But like everyone does in certain points of their lives, I've experienced many bumpy roads and setbacks in 2011. :( I dont want to make a list, for this section, as one should count blessings rather than problems or issues.
Recalling back and comparing it to the current state I am in now, I'm better.
Back then, I felt so overloaded with worries, I had the feeling that everything was just a dream and I wished I could wake up from it soon. Everything seemed so chaotic, so out of place. I felt unwanted, unloved, and that I didnt belong. All I thought about was that I had to survive this, and everything would be okay. I just needed to be patient, to wait.
While waiting for that day of peace to come, I blocked out all emotions and built walls around me. I became cold, to myself and to people. People still continued to disappoint and hurt me. I disappoint me. I built the walls even higher to shield myself from more pain.
But I couldnt be cold forever. I wasnt alone forever. I couldnt block out all my emotions forever. A mere hug from Kennedy would bring me uncontrollable tears, without any rhyme or reason. Tears just flood. I've simply been keeping too much pain inside.
Months later.. (Okay I sound like I'm writing a fictional story but whatever).
The day of peace didn't come. Rather, it was a process of constant renewal and healing. Simple things like a good meal, a nice song, or a good laugh would make my day. :) And soon after circumstances started to change. I had to rebuild myself once more.
Through scrapped knees, I learn.
What I personally want out of 2012: ➩ Building up healthy habits in terms of my studies and my diet ➩ Trying out recipes when time permits ➩ Stability and Healthy Expectations.
With that, I end with a few quotes ^-^v
“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” ~ Howard Thurman
“The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in.” ~ Morrie Schwartz
2012, you could choose whether you want to be challenging or easy on me. Cos I'm just going to build me up and aint gonna worry no more. <3 P/S: Just dont let the world end, okay? (:
So this blog post today will be a little different - more pictures and would be about goods I've purchased (:
Yesterday went to redeem the compliemntary facial services @ Urban Hair that I won from SIMPLYHER magazine contest (:
Ate Mcdonalds then headed to Marina Bay Sands yesterday (28 Dec 2011). First time going to Marina Bay Sands.
Architecture was nice and unique, though the colour scheme of the buildings and inside marina bay sands shopping centre were mainly grey. >_<
. . . . . . . . . .
Took some time to locate Urban Hair. :)
The service was, I would say, quite good as they served me and my mum tea and were nice even though they know they know that my facial was complimentary.
They were not that pushy also - though they did ask us to purchase their products - normal !
The facial was worth $100 and lasted for 1 hour. They cleansed my face, then double cleansed it again LOL (as the beautician claims), squeezed my pimples, did eyebrow plucking, then a 15 minutes mask/cream or something. Have always wanted to do eyebrow plucking, so I guess I finally had my chance to. It was pain, like sticking a few needles and moving it around. X_X Her speed was damn fast, like 100 hairs in 3 minutes or something. Now would be maintaining it. So all in all, it was quite a good experience :) Heh. Would I return to patronize their beauty services again? Mmmm. I would say personally..... no. :( Not because their services are no good, but cos it's pricey for a non-working student like me, so yah -____- At the moment , other than using cleanser and dermal masks as my regular skin routine, I'll might consider adding in a moisturizer and toner as recommended by the beautician. :)
------ END OF COMPLIMENTARY FACIAL POST ------ As for today(29 December), 3 of the purchases from my christmas haul arrived at my postbox. Was quite happy after waiting for 15 days - 2 of them were from Korea. ^.^ Had difficulty taking out one of the parcels cos it was super big.Have always been excited when I receive items from my parcel, it feels like a present (just that you pay for the goods lol). So imagine when I receive 3 of the items at the same time..... TIMES 3 of happiness ! XD The parcels <3
The Face Shop, Black Bean Clay Mask (Nose) - $4.90 Came with 2 BB cream samples.
_ Etude House Bubble Hair Colour (Natural Brown) - $9 Came with 2 samples as well(not in picture). Gosh, korean sellers are really nice !
_ Hello Kitty Fresh Eau De Toilette Perfume (Tropical Fragrance) - $5.90 It was really small, like slightly larger than a 50 cent coin only. :( The fragrance reminded me of passionfruit.
Might post the rest of the goods from the Christmas Haul when they arrive, though it wont be so soon ~ And fyi, I dont usually or try not to purchase that much goods all the time (though I "window shop" at Gmarket like everyday...... but that's besides the point). These crazy hauls/sprees are reserved when I'm working and have extra income or when I have extra savings on hand. ^.^
_. . . . . . . . . . So anyway, I decided to colour my hair immediately after discarding all the cardboard parcels :DDDD
The instructions are as below:
>_____< When I was "shampooing my hair" with the hair dye, I could instantly feel my hair becoming super dry. The condition of my hair worsened when I tried to rinse it. It was to the point where around 20 strands of hair dropped out in total. It was OH-EM-GEE.
But when I applied the hair treatment (came together with the hair colour), the hair condition recovered and restored till 90% of my original hair condition.
The end result?
It wasnt perfect as it was uneven on some places, but overall I think $9 did justice to my hair. :)
So that's all folks for this blog post =DD
Tmrw I will most probably be staying at home, whereas on 31st December will be at the Khatib countdown with secondary school friends and Nerdy.
❤ Much Luv, Hannah
I always love to be self-reliant and independant. Not depending on others, not troubling others whether or not it's my homework or my problems.
I am missing you more and more every single day, and especially more during the holidays. I might be a little too emotional or too dependant on you sometimes. I'm trying to let you live your life and not demand too much of your time, so that I can too live my life.
❤ Much Luv, Hannah
_Well, did nothing much today, except shopping @ Gmarket and watching local dramas on Youtube, and taking an afternoon nap.
So anyway, recently I've been shopping at Gmarket for more often than usual. Purchased a few items already with my christmas money. There's just so many nice things, but what I can afford to buy and would thus allow myself to buy is limited.
So I need to make wise decisions on purchases, and see which items could give me more "economic benefit" (economics). LOL. Or what items I really need. Honestly, I'm not rich but I dont think buying stuff is wrong so long as it does not (1) control your life, (2) let you spend more than what you can afford.
My Biggest Gmarket Haul for Christmas: (Bought over a period of 10 days).
_
So now, this are the things Im considering to purchase:
E.L.F Concealer - $4 TonyMoly Lip Tint - $2.50 Audio Technica Earpiece - $25 BB cream - $15 (Not sure about which shade I need to get cos there's different shades) Bag Holder - $6.11 Moisturizer - $15
. . . . . . . . . . .
Won a complimentary facial service with thanks to SimplyHER magazine.. Hope they will deliver what they said they would deliver, and not be pushy because usually I'm kinda sceptical about beauty salons and all. :) _ Going out in half an hour's time for the facial @ Marina Barrage. Might post about this facial experience here. ^.^
Placed on makeup before going out yesterday.
Went to meet secondary school girlfriends at 5pm-1.30am. Huichin, Eeting, Serena, Zihan & Juetong. It was super fun and we spent most of the time talking. :D
Met at Khatib MRT. Headed over to Novena to see Cotton On. Man, I feel like such a Cotton On junkie these few days, visiting Cotton on like everyday -____- Especially their denim shorts. They all look so fantabulous. But no more $10 sale for most denim shorts, rather it's at the usual price at $39.95. Expensive ttm; I'll just wait for the next sale to come up! :'(
Bought a ribbon necklace @ SGD 5 from Novena Sq's Cotton On, while the girls bought nothing. O:
Headed over to Ion Orchard with the girls.
Ate at Swensons.
I had curry chicken baked rice(before 17%, $12.50).
Fondue, serves 2, was before 17%, $21.90. 5 of us ate and it was just nice for us.
Instructions: 1) Poke the strawberry with your 2 prong dessert fork. 2) Dip generously in warm chocolate fondue. 3) Finish off with a dip into a bowl of chopped nuts. 4) Enjoy :P
After that shopped at Forever 21. :)
Self shots -_____-
O:
After that went to Daiso to do a gift exchange.
Each of us needed to buy $4 worth of items, that is 2 items within 15 minutes. Then after that we will draw lots, and the person whose name you drew - You will give that person the 2 items you bought. :D
It was really fun. Talked at Macdonalds for 2 hours plus.
Took Polaroids:)
Countdown t Christmas, then that's all :P
Today going out with Nerd to watch Sherlock Holmes.
Merry Christmas 2011 Everyone ! :)

_ -------------------
Recently, have been feeling rather emotionally and physically strained. After tremendous growth from year 2010, I've reached a plateau in my life.
Definition of Plateau: Reaching a state of little or no change after a time of activity or progress.
For Julia Roberts in Eat.Pray.Love, there were many circumstances in her life, such as constant love problems, that she had to face. She lost herself in the midst of all the chaos of her life. She quit her job, and then went on a trip around the world, to find herself back again. And guess what? She did.
_ To remind us that life doesnt need to be so chaotic, sometimes all we need are little breaks like this ❤ And it might not be such an extensive around the world trip like that of Eat Pray Love. I need to find myself back once more, to be the Hannah that I was. More sure of herself, more motivated with whatever she's doing, and most importantly more happier.Haters are gonna keep on hating. Why? Cos they have no room for love in their hearts. Negative people are gonna keep on criticising. Why? They are insecure inside. So very insecure. They try to say negative things to make themselves feel a teeny bit better. As much as I would love to, I cant please everyone. I cant make everyone like me. It's just not humanly impossible. Even God, some people are hatin' on God. So it's just impossible, not only humanly impossible? And finally, I cant always please myself too. Sometimes. I might fail my own expectations too. It's not easy. It hurts. But it's through the scrapped knees that we learn, we are able to empathize with each other.
Something that Mae Sta Maria said long time ago on TV -You know, I might cry for five minutes here and there, but everything will be okay in the end, cos the music is there (Points to heart). Sorry for the wordy post, there are somethings that I just wanna let myself know by typing everything out. Peace out.
Weebly is acting REAL screwed up. I can blog but I cant edit anything :/ The only thing I can do now is to create blog post and add peektures. I cant even change font, edit my blogskin, edit my wishlist, or anything like that.
Hope Weebly gets it fixed soon, cos recently I've alot of things to say, both good and bad. D:
Okay now enough of the weebly downtime rambling !!!!!! D:<
So on the 18-19th December, went to Bintan with Fannie, her parents, and grannie. They treated me <3
Did many activities in a short span of 1 1/2 days.
Sat on the ferry to Bintan. I'm telling you, it's one of the most XINKU 55 minutes of my life I've ever gone through. Cos it's the monsoon season, the waves are uber gigantic.
Ended up vomiting twice. >___< Even broke out in cold sweat. Grannie and Fannie also vomited.
Finally reached Bintan. Super duper windy place, in a good way.
Played super alot of stuff there :D
First time visiting Indonesia First time sitting on a Dune Buggy First time playing Archery First time playing Rifle shooting First time Bowling and actually ENJOYING it First time playing Water polo :)
