Have been trying to adjust to a slower paced life.
Looking back, I felt that Year 2 Semester 2 was personally very fast paced. On top of the usual homework that we were supposed to do and tests to study, there was just so many projects we had to clear
(I figured it was around 10 projects that semester, some big ones like 20% of final score, and some 5%?).
Anyway, I'm just glad that I managed to scrape through this sem.
And bored. But I understand. Perhaps I wont feel this way since I've got a job and my blogshop to occupy me. Hahaha, oh well.
Anyway, other than cooking that I've done (in my previous post), I have been watching many skincare tutorials and DIY-ing my own skincare products !
I've done Bubzbeauty's Green Tea Scrub, and also a youtubers' Green Tea Toner with the exception that I added some lemon juice for oil control.
But one DIY skincare item that I'm gonna post on my blog today is...
Michelle Phan's Cucumber Eye Pads. (:
I admit that, initially I was very skeptical about these eye pads.
I know they were from Michelle Phan thus I believed that it did have a certain level of standard, but I wasnt really expecting that it would be as good as those expensive eye products bought outside.
I've tried collagen eye masks(which i got for less than a dollar each) from a blogshop, and garnier roll on stick(which I swapped with a blogshop owner around 2 years back). They felt cooling and I loved the collagen eye masks as it was really affordable. The garnier roll on stick was not bad as well, just that it was pricey if I were to buy it outside.
So in summary, I was skeptical AT FIRST about these cucumber eyepads. I still decided to go ahead and try though ;)
Items needed and prices I got 'em for:
1) 2 small cucumbers OR 1 large cucumber - $0.50
2) Small translucent plastic bags - $0.80
3) Cotton wool - $1.25
Total: $2.55, yielding 60 pairs of cucumber eyepads !
(Around ~4 cents per pair, where to find so cheap eye product!)
Step 2: Sifting the cucumber juice so that you'll get cucumber water. Discard all the cucumber fibre or remains.
Step 3: Soak the cotton wool in batches of 10, or whatever you're comfortable with. You can even do it individually, but for me in batches of 10 seems more effective. Squeeze out all excess water.
Step 4: Pack it into individual packages for a pair of cucumber eyepads.
Step 5: Freeze them, wait for them to freeze, and then you're ready to use ! (:
1 cucumber yields around 30 pairs of cucumber eyepads.
I placed the packages of eyepads inside the fridge irregularly so that it would be easier to take them out as plastic tends to get stuck to each other :)
I've already tried 3 pairs and I have nothing but compliments for this DIY eyecare item. I'm not sure about reduction in puffiness of eyes and dark eyed circles. But being a heavy laptop user, this is a must to relax my eyes after hours of selling items online, watching youtube etc /:
Gave mum one pair to try and she said it was amazing.
Gave bf one pair to try and he said it makes him want to sleep ~_~
Hahahaa. So that's about it. Try the cucumber eyepads today!
:)
On the side note, I'll be starting work this friday!! :)
Basically the job is from the MDA (Media Development Authority). It is to go to different primary schools and educate them on Cyber Wellness, and there's a manual that we need to follow and learn first before educating primary school students. $7/hour.
Feeling privileged to get a meaningful job yet, mind my language, feeling super fked up because I need to locate ALL the primary schools which is a pain in the ass considering how I panick when I get lost. Guess I need to go there each time super early lest I get lost and be late. Whatever it is, I just gotta calm down and if I really get lost on that day, errrrr may the stars guide me to the primary school then.. =.='''
My working partners for this job are Yusheng and Wayne as stated in the roster. I'm not quite sure who they are - I hope they would be nice colleagues.
Anyw, thanks for reading. Smell ya all around later ! <3
